Getting inspired on November 22nd!

Inspiration is an important ingredient to creating the best product design that you can develop as a Design Engineer.  Sometimes it comes from nature, art and history.  Today is a special day in history as the world recognizes the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.  Inspiration was part of his legacy and JFK inspired a generation to push harder and reach for the moon.

As I started to think about modern day hero’s that are among us I was reminded of a hero that I have had the pleasure of working closely with several times this year. Each time I am in his presence I walk away feeling inspired to continue to do my best at work and in life.  This past week all employees at PTC were treated to a visit from Reggie Showers in our Needham, MA office.  He is the College Park Industries customer that we featured in a recent PTC Creo video. College Park Industries is a company that makes super high-tech prosthetic devices.

Reggie Showers is a two-time world motorcycle drag racing champion, certified snowboard instructor, rock climber and an inspiration to us all.  College Park designed the Soleus foot that aids Reggie in living an extremely action packed life.  Their tool of choice is PTC Creo.

If on this Friday, get inspired by taking a moment and enjoy this video and read about his story.  Tell us how this story inspires you today and share your design work that you are proud of so you can inspire us all.
