The greatest bike race in the world is held June 19 to July 21 this year. Celebrating its 100th year, the Tour de France sends riders through more than 2100 miles of countryside, hills, and mountains each summer.
Forget to turn in your entry form? No worries. PTC customer Pro-Form has figured out a way for all of us to ride Le Tour. And the good news is, you don’t even have to get on an airplane to do it.
Pro-Form, known for its treadmills, has recently unveiled a line of exercise bikes, including Le Tour de France Indoor Bike. With the Pro-Form bike, you can simulate the 21-day race experience from your living room. You’ll pedal with:
- Adjustable inclines and declines. The Pro-Form Le Tour de France Indoor Bike can rise up to a 20% incline—more than enough to get you up the daunting Alp-d’Huez. Twice.
- Hand gears and magnetic resistance options. Don’t just spin–work like an elite racer.
- iFIT plus Google Maps. Preplan your route, track your progress, and enjoy the view as you travel through old villages, glide through fields of sunflowers, and take a victory lap around the Arc-de-Triomphe. Pro-Form’s iFIT technology adjusts your incline to match the terrain automatically as you ride.
Fitness equipment has come a long way since Grandmother’s stationary bike on the back porch. It’s come so far, in fact, that Pro-Form’s Le Tour de France Indoor Bike was included on Tech Toys 360, a Velocity Discovery show that features “vehicles, gadgets, and gear.” That’s right, an exercise bike among super cars, sexy electronics, and hot consumer robots.
