PTC Creo-designed products picked up more than a dozen iF awards this year for excellence in design, communication, and packaging. Here are just a few of them:
Heavy equipment designed with PTC Creo earned iF awards for the following manufacturers:
Festo won awards for four of its industrial products:
- The electric cylinder EPCO (pdf)
- The valve terminal VTUG
- The motor cable NEBM
- The adaptive gripper DHDG (pdf) (which received a further distinction, a gold iF award).
Whirlpool won for its handsome cook top, the Whirlpool iXelium™ slimline hob, which has been called the perfect match between technology and sophisticated design.
In consumer electronics, PTC Creo-designed products were honored as follows:
- Sony Erricson won three awards for its Xperia lineup of Android smartphones, while the Mix Walkman phone grabbed a fourth award.
- Lenovo won for its colorful Ideapad U300s Notebook.
A total of 1605 companies from 48 countries submitted more than 4300 products to be considered for the prestigious design recognition. Awards were divided into 16 categories, and 100 received the iF Gold award for exceptional design achievement.
The 2012 participants and award winners included large international corporations, agencies, design studios, and small- to medium-sized companies.
