Just because a company is small, doesn’t mean it can’t make a huge difference.
You may remember the What A Great Idea Company (WAGIC) that we showcased last year in July. Since then, WAGIC has risen to rock star status. Consumer Goods Technology (CGT) listed WAGIC as one of nine Standout SMBs (small-to-midsized businesses) that have successful business strategies that generate huge revenues – generating at or less than $1 billion. Let’s take a quick look at some of those strategies.
F
or starters, WAGIC creates products that cater to specific niches in the market, like the niche they dubbed the Do it Herselfer (DIH’er). Their RE:SOLVE 10-piece home décor multi-tool includes everything the DIH’er needs to hang pictures, mirrors, and shelves (6ft tape measure, pencil, pencil sharpener, Phillips and slotted screwdrivers, magnetic stud finder, bubble level, and a drywall hole starter) all in one handheld tool. Idea sounds great, right?
This next product they have I like to call the One Person Cleaning Parade.
In a broom closet full of mops, brooms, and dust pans from other companies, WAGIC engineers figured out how to make the coolest mop on the block. Essentially, they threw out all the mops, dusters, and pans and created the Giraffe® Reach System™ to replace them all. The system contains a telescoping wand with interchangeable parts for every task – from mopping the floor to changing a light-bulb 20 feet high with a suction cup.
Their multi-purpose passion doesn’t stop with the customer though. In-house, they use PTC’s Creo and 3D printing to conceptualize, design, and test their products.
Thinking beyond the current store shelf, WAGIC has figured out how to appeal to a mass audience and rightfully sit as a standout SMB. Congrats WAGIC!
