This year, PTC set out to deliver Creo 2.0 with more capability and stability than any release in the past decade. If you’ve been using Creo 1.0, or have thought about purchasing Creo, it’s time to move and consider buying Creo 2.0. Paul Sagar, PTC product management director for Creo highlights his top reasons to move.
In Creo 2.0, we’ve added new apps, extensions, and major capabilities to our expanding Creo suite. The Creo Options Modeler speeds up your design cycle by instantly seeing how changes in different product configurations and modules affect the final product in 3D. This app handles everything in one location, eliminating potential errors with data transfer.
Creo 2.0 sports almost 1,500 new enhancements compared to Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5.0. Here are a few favorites:
Freestyle. Multi-level sub-divisional modeling gives you better control over the surface mesh. The control mesh lets you manipulate and produce more refined structures without altering the freeform shape.
Sketching. With more geometry commands and real-time regeneration and previews of cut-outs and cut-throughs, sketching adds freedom and variation to designing in Creo Parametric.
Cross Sections. You can automatically add a cross section by picking a plane or referencing an object. There’s also a pop-up window showing the 2D profile so you can see potential interferences.
Sheet Metal. New capabilities in previews and editing along with overhauled workflows let you add a bend between two walls, create sketch-based form features, and detect overlapping geometry in a live-flat pattern preview.
Measuring. A few small changes made a huge workflow improvement for Creo Parametric. Now a single click makes multiple measures on selected surface.
Here’s one more thing that you’ll appreciate about Creo 2.0 – its stability. From our own internal testing, Creo 2.0 has the highest release stability and quality of any release since Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 1.0, which was released in 2002.
If you’re part of the pantheon of Pro/ENGINEER users who are quietly thinking that Creo is something you would purchase or move to, go ahead and unlock even more potential with Creo 2.0.
