PTC talks with CADplace at Planet PTC Live about the reasons customers are moving to Creo 2.0 – the customers are moving to the new platform to take advantage of the performance, the productivity gains, and the new technology available in the platform.
Mike Campbell is a veteran of PTC’s MCAD business. He has seen the evolution of the Pro/ENGINEER platform in more than 17 years at the company. As the General Manager for the MCAD segment, Mike is the person to tell us about the strategies behind the Creo 2.0 release as well as the perspective for the future. In this interview, Mr. Campbell gives the main reasons customers are moving to Creo 2.0 & the key benefits the product provides.
Customers today tell PTC that they are already productive using Pro/ENGINEER. With Wildfire 4.0 or 5.0 they are getting the job done. Well, Mr. Campbell explains, all of that stays the same, in fact Creo 2.0 has 100% upward data compatibility, but there are 2 important points. First, users will be more productive. Independent analysis has shown a 73% reduction in the time to complete a set of common tasks. Additionally, the assembly performance, user experience, & graphics performance improvements are just a couple of areas of improvements.
