Learning on the Fly Becomes Reality with Creo

LearningConnector

“This is how it needs to be: Learning and knowledge management right out of the application”, a customer recently stated when being presented the latest version of PTC University’s LearningConnector for Creo. Since they have started presenting the new LearningConnector for Creo, our teams keep reporting back positive customer feedback to us.

But not everyone is familiar with what LearningConnector is, so I thought I would provide a brief overview here!

So, what is LearningConnector?

LearningConnector was first introduced in 2010 for Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4.0, Windchill 9.0 and Mathcad and this new application immediately won the 2010 Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards.

Basically, LearningConnector enables you to get fast answers to your software questions without ever leaving the application. It offers you context-sensitive access to your eLearning libraries: With just a click of the mouse you can seamlessly access your software’s eLearning library, online help, and PTC KnowledgeBase to find exactly the information you need.

Thus, eLearning has become faster than ever – you can look up a topic and pull up a tutorial, without interrupting your work.

What is new in LearningConnector for Creo 1.0?

While the early versions of LearningConnector required a separate download, the current PTC software versions of Creo, Windchill and Mathcad come with a built-in version of LearningConnector.

For the new LearningConnector for Creo 1.0, we have even added some extra elegance:

  • With the new interface, LearningConnector is easier to use, and follows you while working in the software. Making the connection of learning and working seamless.
  • In addition to our powerful eLearning, we developed a new set of content specifically for Creo — tutorials. LearningConnector now features over 200 short tutorials right in Creo to make learning the product that much easier.  Each tutorial is mapped to key functions of the product, putting volumes of powerful training right at your fingertips.

Here’s a little demo, my colleague Jonathan Bass has recorded for you:

So, I hope you like what you have seen here. Feel free to comment below – We look forward to getting your feedback!
